Euro-BioImaging Access Procedure
Please note: EuBI strongly recommends contacting the Node Candidate(s) before submitting an application

Video : Euro-BioImaging access made easy
During Interim Operation, all Euro-BioImaging (EuBI) users will use this Interim Web Access Portal as the virtual entry point to the EuBI Node Candidates that offer imaging technologies and services.
Identifying suitable imaging technology(ies) and site(s) for your project
Search and choose the desired technology(ies) and the EuBI Node Candidate(s) offering them from the Locations and technologies tab. If you do not know which technology to choose and/or which Node Candidate(s) to prefer, indicate this in the application form, and the Euro-BioImaging Hub will assist you.
Note: EuBI encourages users to discuss potential applications with the contact person at the prospective EuBI Node Candidate(s) before submitting an application, to make the application as strong and successful as possible.
Submission of application
Submit an application that describes the project to be carried out using the imaging technologies at the EuBI Node Candidate. The application form is simple and includes for instance personal information, the choices of technology(ies) and EuBI Node Candidate(s) and information about the research project. (There is a link to the online application form at the bottom of this page.)
Note: For technical reasons, you cannot save an incomplete application and come back to it later, so please prepare your whole application beforehand, and once you are ready, fill in the fields of the form in one go. To prepare, you can find the full content of the application form here.
Review of the application
Every application will go through two stages of evaluation. The criteria for the evaluation can be found in the Review of applications tab. The first evaluation stage is a scientific review, conducted by two external reviewers, who are leading experts in the field. After the first review, if any additional information is required, you will be invited to submit it via the Interim Web Access Portal. If the application passes the first review, it will be sent to the selected EuBI Node Candidate(s) for a technical feasibility review. Again, you will be invited to submit additional information, if needed. You will be constantly informed of the progress of the application procedure by email. The whole procedure, until final notice of acceptance/rejection, is expected to take 3-4 weeks.
After successful application evaluation
After your application has been accepted, you will be contacted by the respective EuBI Node Candidate for further practical arrangements, including project preparation and time and duration of your visit.
Note: The EuBI Hub Candidates and EuBI Node Candidates will assist you as needed, during the application procedure and the actual access.
During the visit
At the EuBI Node Candidate, an effort will be made to serve you in the best possible way. You will receive hands-on training for the technology(ies) you will use, access to equipment and materials, and expert support with data collection and analysis. You will also be given guidance for the transport of materials, made aware of health and safety regulations and provided help with accommodation arrangements
After the visit
After you have completed the visit, you will be required to fill in a brief online feedback form via the Interim Web Access Portal. Later, when the project your visit was part of is completed, you need to remember to fill in a brief concluding report that includes information of a possible scientific publication.
Euro-BioImaging access needs to be acknowledged in any publication with a sentence such as the following: "The authors acknowledge Euro-BioImaging (www.eurobioimaging.eu) for providing access to imaging technologies and services via the XXX Node (City, Country)".
Note: Filling in these post-access feedback forms is mandatory, as they are essential for EuBI to continuously optimize its services and to get statistics and information necessary for justifying continued operations.
Please note: All submissions regarding user access must be done via the Interim Web Access Portal, not by email. EuBI cannot accept any applications or post-project feedback via email.
